Practical Application to Include future Disease costs (PAID) 4.0

PAID 4.0 is a comprehensive toolkit designed to facilitate the incorporation of future unrelated medical and non-medical costs in economic evaluations. It is a web-based application that allows researchers to specify key parameters of an intervention and generate case-specific cost estimates. The tool provides per capita annual healthcare expenditure projections, stratified by age, sex, and proximity to death, enabling a more precise assessment of long-term healthcare costs.

Developed as part of HI-PRIX WP3, PAID 4.0 builds upon previous versions by integrating Cost of Illness studies and mortality data from 2019, ensuring methodologically rigorous and up-to-date cost estimations. A key advancement of this version is its broadened geographical scope, extending beyond the Netherlands to include Germany, with additional countries to be incorporated as data become available.
