XXIX AIES Annual Conference

The 2024 Annual AIES Conference, held in Naples on December 9-10, addresses the timely theme: "Digital Transformation, Sustainability, and Equity in Healthcare: Enhancing Access, Equity, and Performance." Digital transformation continues to reshape various economic sectors, significantly impacting healthcare through advancements in e-health. Over the past 30 years, innovative digital technologies have improved healthcare accessibility, clinical information management, and system performance. Initiatives like Italy's National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR) emphasize substantial investments in telemedicine and e-health, driving greater sustainability, equity, and efficiency in healthcare delivery. However, digital transformation also presents challenges, including generational and socioeconomic disparities, steep learning curves for healthcare professionals, altered work practices, and information overload. The conference provides a platform to explore these critical issues, facilitating dialogue among policymakers, healthcare professionals, academics, and industry leaders to define strategies promoting inclusive and sustainable digital innovation in healthcare.
